Reasons to join Alpha Delta Phi's Nittany Chapter:

Greek life at Penn State is huge. In fact, it is one of the largest greek systems in the country. Many of the fraternities on campus, however, fit the typical stereotypes regarding hazing, drugs, and alcohol. Alpha Delta Phi's Nittany Chapter was recently founded in 2001 as a unique fraternity whose sole purpose is to support strong brotherhood and promote the best college experience possible. We take pride in the fact that we are a small chapter and focus on recruiting quality brothers. The benefits of joining Alpha Delta Phi are endless; lifelong friendships, great social events, leadership opportunities, and networking, are just a few of them. Because of its size, the Alpha Delta Phi Nittany Chapter allows brothers to "get out of it what they put in" and we always strive to be the best and most innovative house in State College. Our international fraternity is also smaller than many, allowing it to position itself at only the finest schools in the nation, rather than seeing an Alpha Delt house on every corner.

Why Join a Fraternity?

Fraternities provide their members a wealth of benefits, many of which last long beyond a brother's graduation....

  • Leadership:
    •  Fraternities teach leadership and communication skills, and involve handling issues uncommon to other organizations.
    • Fraternity treasurers deal with thousands of dollars(receivables and payables), presidents learn valuable risk management concepts, and everyone learns how to get ideas across to those of varying backgrounds.
  • Academics:
    • Fraternities also offer academic benefits such as scholarships and tutoring by older brothers.
  • Alumni:
    • Alumni contacts are very important for job prospects, legal advice, and starting a network of contacts.
  • Brotherhood:
    • Most importantly, fraternities offer brotherhood. Where else can you become friends with 20+ other people of all different races, backgrounds, and ethnicities? Your brothers are life-long friends.
